Cold high pressure will build over the area today behind an exiting low pressure system. This low may still produce an inch or two of snow over the southern James River valley. Elsewhere...little if any additional snow accumulation is expected. Brisk winds and cold temperatures will produce wind chills of 20 to 35 below zero across the area today. The winds will also produce some blowing and drifting snow...mainly in open country. The cold air will remain for a day or two before we see a gradual warm-up by the middle of the week.
